Yesterday, the two countries agreed to halt their exchanges and to go ahead with the negotiations.

Trump had endorsed Letlow over incumbent Senator Bill Cassidy, who voted to convict him in his 2021 impeachment trial. Cassidy, who was first elected in 2014, placed third in the initial primary vote last month.
Cassidy has since clashed with Trump, joining a group of Republican lawmakers who are either retiring or have been defeated in their respective primary races.
